Project: Exploration of Multiple Streaming from vl3 to Tiled Display

Details: Implemented module for streaming ultra-high resolution images from a visualization cluster to a remote tiled display at nearly interactive frame rates.
Achievements: 1). Received Best Poster Award at LDAV and invitation to present at VISTech 2015. Jiang, Jie, et al. “Streaming ultra high resolution images to large tiled display at nearly interactive frame rate with vl3.” Large Data Analysis and Visualization (LDAV), 2015. 2). Designed a scalable system to be deployed on both personal computers and dedicated visualization clusters; 3). Obtained 3.3 fps streaming of real-time rendered images at resolution of 6134×1248 from 2048^3 volume data; 4). Designed 2 stage synchronization to prevent intertile mismatch from parallel streaming.

Contribution: 1). Implemented the entire project from scratch. 2). Decoupled interaction module and streaming module that enables remote collaboration.
